A good friend of mine has gone back to school to study social work and as part of a class assignment she has to put in some volunteer hours. She's decided to put in those hours by working with a battered women's group. We were talking about some of the things she was learning in her training course about abuse and how often times those victims don't always realize they're being abused. She then shared with me the following clip from an amazing women who lived through an abusive relationship. She has a really eye opening story and helps answer some hard questions that people who haven't experience abuse often ask.
While it's not something we like to think about, abuse is unfortunately more prevalent than we realize. If you have a chance, take a look at her story. It's about 15 minutes long but worth it. It's called Living Through Crazy Love by Leslie Morgan Steiner.
